Owners Donna Smith and Gary Hooks have over 25 years of
combined experience working in this field. Many of these years were working in
homes as direct support staff. This gives them a far better understanding of
what individuals and staff need to succeed. Having worked in homes as staff
implementing Support plans, keeping individuals safe, and meeting the needs of
individuals served, aids in creating an environment the improves staff's
abilities and increases the self-esteem and independence of those we serve.
After years of working with other Agencies, holding positions
ranging from Direct Support staff to Director. Donna and Gary decided to get
away from the Corporate run Agencies.
Being from the east Tennessee area having firsthand knowledge of the
local community, employees, and individuals they felt they could offer services
and supports fitting the needs of individuals here in East Tennessee. All
policy and procedures are created with a working knowledge of what is needed and
works here in East Tennessee.
Donna and Gary continue to see the benefits of working in a
home. This is why they continue to work at least one day a month in
a home. This helps to continue firsthand knowledge of the needs of supported
individuals and staff.
